2024

February. Sony Interactive Entertainment trademarks Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet in the United States, then in other regions. The title is public before any footage.

12 December. Naughty Dog reveals the game at The Game Awards with a four-and-a-half-minute in-engine trailer. Neil Druckmann’s PlayStation Blog post names Jordan A. Mun, Sempiria, Tati Gabrielle, and composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. PlayStation uploads the trailer the same night.

Mid-December. Cast detectives identify Halley Gross as AJ, Kumail Nanjiani as Colin Graves, and other faces in group shots. A widely shared “plot leak” is publicly called fake. This wiki still ignores that document; see the story primer.

2025

March. Druckmann, speaking on the Creator to Creator podcast and in follow-up interviews, says the team still has a long way to go, wants the player to feel lost, and confirms the 1980s timeline split. Jason Schreier states the game is not a 2026 ship in his view.

April. A Jordan-style jacket is added as an Ellie cosmetic in The Last of Us Part II Remastered, including as a PSN-linked incentive on PC.

May–September. Tati Gabrielle discusses faith, backlash, and Druckmann’s direction while promoting other work. Druckmann steps back from day-to-day Last of Us season 3 duties to focus on Intergalactic. He calls the game the studio’s most ambitious and expensive.

October–November. Naughty Dog posts localisation and language-QA roles (French, Japanese, later German, Italian, and others). Commentators treat this as a late-production signal; it is logged here as hiring, not as a date.

December. Bloomberg reports mandated overtime to finish an internal demo for Sony, and describes a mid-2027 internal target.

2026

January. Tony Dalton talks publicly about the capture stage and calls Naughty Dog “top of the line.”

March. Druckmann shares capture-stage images with Merle Dandridge, confirming her return to the studio’s volume.

April–May. Gabrielle continues to describe Intergalactic as a different side of Naughty Dog during Mortal Kombat 2 press.

August. Robin Atkin Downes is reported among the company. On 31 August, Naughty Dog confirms principal performance capture has wrapped.

31 August. Naughty Dog posts that the cinematic shoot has wrapped, quoting Cowboy Bebop: “See you, space cowboy…” Full production notes sit on development.

3 September. PlayStation’s State of Play closes on Final Fantasy VII Revelation. Intergalactic does not appear. IGN and others log it as a first-party no-show. That is an absence, not a cancellation. Dedicated recap: State of Play. The release date page remains TBA.
